Privacy policy

Vettri tells you how favourable each day and hour is, using Vedic astrology worked out from birth details. Vettri is made by Ravana Industries. This policy explains what we collect, why, who else sees it, and the choices you have. It covers this website (vettri.life), the Vettri web app (app.vettri.life), and the Vettri apps for iOS and Android.
1. What we collect

The “find your birth star” and “today in your town” tools on this site work out the answer and do not save what you type. We do not collect your contacts, photos, advertising identifiers or precise location. We do not use advertising or analytics trackers.
2. How we protect it
- Names and birth details are encrypted before they are saved. The key is kept on our server, apart from the database.
- Passwords are never stored, only a one-way hash.
- Everything travels over HTTPS.
- Your email address is stored as plain text so that you can sign in.
3. Who else receives data
We do not sell your data. We use a few services to run Vettri:
- Cloudflare delivers this site and the app and sees ordinary connection data such as IP address.
- Resend sends sign-in, reset and confirmation emails, so it receives your email address and the message.
- OpenRouter and the language-model providers it routes to receive facts worked out from your chart, your question, and the names of people you ask about together, so that readings and answers can be written. They do not receive your email address or password.
- OpenStreetMap Nominatim receives a place name you search for, or your rounded coordinates, to find the matching town.
- Assistant connectors (for example Claude or ChatGPT), only if you connect one yourself. The assistant receives ratings, dates and planets, never your birth details.
We may disclose information if the law requires it.
4. On your device
The apps keep a small amount of data on your device: your latest day summary so the app opens offline, your reminder and language settings, and scheduled reminders. Reminders are scheduled on your device by the phone’s own notification system, so no device token is sent to us. You can turn reminders off in Me, or in your phone’s settings.
5. Permissions the apps ask for
- Location (while in use, approximate): only for the “Use my location” button. You can decline and choose a town by name instead.
- Notifications: for your morning note and alerts. Optional.
- Vibration (haptics): for small touch feedback. No data involved.
6. Your choices and rights
- Download everything: Me → Privacy and data → Download my data.
- Delete everything: Me → Privacy and data → Delete my account, or ask us on the delete your data page. Backup copies are cleared within 30 days.
- Edit or remove any person you added, at any time.
- Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct, or object to our use of your data. Write to us and we will help.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account exists. When you delete your account it is removed as described above. Waitlist details are kept until Vettri opens and you have been told, or until you ask us to delete them. Sign-in codes expire after 15 minutes and sign-in sessions after 30 days.
8. Children
Vettri is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Not advice
Vettri offers astrological guidance for reflection and planning. It is not medical, legal, financial or other professional advice.
10. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
